Chillin' like a frog on a lotus

I had been meaning to see an exhibition at the Mt CootTha Botanic Gardens, and by the time I got there, it was closing day.. I had just missed it! Feeling a bit bummed, I walked out of the building and saw lily ponds of lotus before me. They were so beautiful, and I was thrilled to see them: I had been wondering where on earth I could see live, growing lotus to examine so as to paint them someday!
So I grab my phone camera, and that's when I see it.. this little green zazen frog. Well, that's what it looked like to me, anyway - ready to bow before class! Relaxed, centred, and aware.
I was able to get only one shot before the grog leapt into the pond without even a splash. I took a few more photos for composition ideas, and paid attention to various elements of the plant. But what a moment.
When it is time to sit.. just, sit. When it is time to paint, paint.
And sometimes, it's time to simply chill out like a frog on a lotus.
